Accessibility Statement
Our commitment
Duval Plumbing Co. is committed to making this website usable by everyone, including people who use assistive technology like screen readers, keyboard-only navigation, screen magnifiers, voice-control software, and switch devices.
⚠️ v1 statement notice. This page is the agency baseline. Following the Phase 9 accessibility audit (completed before launch), we’ll update this statement with the specific WCAG 2.1 AA conformance level achieved, any known exceptions, and the remediation plan for each.
Standards we follow
We target WCAG 2.1 Level AA — the international standard for web accessibility. That means:
- Contrast. Body text has a contrast ratio of at least 4.5:1 against the background, and large text and UI components meet 3:1.
- Keyboard navigation. Every interactive element — links, buttons, form fields — is reachable and usable with the keyboard alone.
- Screen reader compatibility. Headings are nested in order, landmarks are labeled, and images have descriptive alt text (or are marked decorative).
- Focus visibility. When you tab through the page, the focused element shows a visible outline you can see.
- Reduced motion. Animations honor the operating-system
prefers-reduced-motionsetting — if you’ve asked your system to reduce motion, our site reduces it.
What’s known
This is a Phase 7 launch build. The following are known and being tracked:
- Some decorative SVG elements are marked
aria-hidden="true"correctly but are accompanied by surrounding text that should describe their purpose; we’re auditing case-by-case. - The Duval map static SVG is decorative; the surrounding text (ZIP-code chips, neighborhood links) carries the structured information.
- Real photographic content is not yet on the site (v1.1) — when it lands, all hero and content images will receive descriptive alt text per Phase 9 standards.

If you encounter content or a feature on this site that is hard to use with assistive technology, please tell us:

- Email: the address in the footer (v1.1 supplied).
We aim to respond to accessibility reports within two business days. Critical-blocker reports — anything that prevents you from reaching us by phone or filling our contact form — get same-day response.
How to request an accommodation for service
If you need an accommodation for the plumbing service itself — extra notification time, a specific arrival window, a particular communication channel — tell us when you call or note it in the contact-form message field. We’ll work with you to make the service usable.
