Plumbers serving Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, and Neptune Beach

Saltwater corrosion, hurricane prep, beach-house seasonal plumbing — Duval Plumbing Co. serves Jacksonville, Atlantic, and Neptune Beach. ZIPs 32233, 32250, 32266.

The Beaches are their own plumbing climate — literally. Salt air corrodes brass and chrome two to three times faster than inland Duval; sand finds its way into outdoor showers and beach-rinse stations; and every hurricane season puts every line and every shutoff to a stress test the rest of the county doesn't share. The fixtures last shorter, the schedule of preventive care is different, and the calls cluster around two seasons: hurricane prep in June and the post-storm cleanup in September and October.

We run trucks to Jacksonville Beach, Atlantic Beach, and Neptune Beach almost every day. The work mix is different from inland Mandarin — fewer slab leaks, more fixture replacements; fewer big repipes, more outdoor-shower repairs; fewer cast-iron drain replacements, more sump-pump and backflow checks ahead of storm season.

FAQ

The Beaches — questions we get.

Why do my fixtures fail so fast at the beach?

Salt air. The aerosolized salt that drifts in off the ocean attacks brass fittings, chrome plating, and chrome-on-zinc fixtures. A standard kitchen faucet that lasts 12 years inland will sometimes only last 4 to 6 at the beach. The fix is to choose marine-grade or solid-stainless fixtures on replacement — they cost more up front, last 2 to 3 times longer. We'll point out the difference on the estimate.

What should I do for hurricane prep?

Three things before the season starts in June: test your main shutoff valve (most homeowners discover theirs is stuck the day they need it), test your sump pump if you have one, and confirm your backflow preventer is working if you're on city water. We do a flat-rate hurricane-prep visit that covers all three plus a quick exterior walk-around for visible vulnerabilities.

Do you do beach-house seasonal turn-on/turn-off?

Yes. For owners of beach houses that sit empty for part of the year, we offer a turn-off service (drain the supply, drain the water heater, antifreeze in the traps, shut the main, document the state) and a matching turn-on service before the next stay. Common request for seasonal renters and second-home owners.
